Coach Kerr hopes “KD” will recover midway through his hunt for gold at the Paris Olympics

US men’s basketball head coach Steve Kerr admitted that forward Kevin Durant is not in perfect physical condition for the 2024 Paris Olympics, but with the time limit approaching, he must carry his body beforehand and hopes that he will recover fully along the way ทางเข้า ufabet.

Durant has been out with a strained right calf since mid-June, so he has not participated in the NBA’s five preseason games. His condition is being monitore day-to-day.

However, Coach Kerr won’t ditch the 11-time All-Star and call up a new one like he did with Kawhi Leonard, who will make his group stage debut in just a few days.

“There’s no thought about replacing Durant,” he told ESPN.

“I was hoping he would still get to play in the Paris Olympics, but it just didn’t work out,”

“That guy is one of the most skilled players of all time, so I want him to be back in the game as soon as possible. I think he will be fit along the way.”

Durant is the all-time leading scorer for the US men’s basketball team with 435 points, 99 more than second-placed Carmelo Anthony, a three-time Olympic gold medalist.

‘KD’ hopes to become the first player to win four Olympic men’s basketball gold medals if he does it again in Paris. The previous three were in Tokyo 2020, Rio de Janeiro 2016 and London 2012.

The US men ‘s basketball team flew to Lille, France, to begin their Group C campaign, starting with Serbia ( July 28 ) , South Sudan ( July 31 ) and Puerto Rico ( August 3 )  .
